Glengarry was started by Joseph Jakicevich in 1940, and is currently run by the familys 3rd generation headed by, neatly enough, Joe The Younger. The original store in Herne Bay is now one of 16 outlets around Auckland and Wellington. While Glengarry remains prominent as wine specialists, the outlets rightly promote themselves as lifestyle stores. From Bordeaux to boutique beers, premium spirits to prime local cheeses Glengarry has it covered. And if you're an accessories kind of person, Glengarry stock a serious range of Austrian glassware, tailor blown for each variety of wine on the market. Add to this some primo wine knives/blenders/shakers etc and you really can get it all.
Whatever the product, it has to pass a rigorous taste/product quality check or it simply will not be stocked by Glengarry. Simple, really.
